In January 1975 an Alumni Office was established by Bosco Tech. Six months later, the first edition of the Alumni newsletter was published and there was a governing board with representatives from all 16 graduating classes. The alumni governing board determined that the purpose of the association was to foster a spirit of fraternity among alumni, maintain pride in the mission of Don Bosco Technical Institute, and to stimulate and promote business relationships among alumni.

In the spring of 1976, after polling alumni, the governing board decided to wait before attempting to formalize the efforts of the Alumni Office into an actual alumni association.

On December 5, 1982, 30 graduates attended an organizing meeting of the Bosco Tech Alumni Association. Two committees were formed; the bylaws committee responsible for drawing up the working format, bylaws and constitution and the nominating committee, which was charged with seeking, qualified graduates to recommend for election as officers. The first Alumni Association Board of Directors took office in June of 1983.

The Alumni Association is a viable organization dedicated to the mission of Don Bosco. Its goal is to provide avenues that will facilitate and encourage the Salesian spirit among Bosco Tech alumni and students.

At the Alumni Association Board meeting in July of 1997, the group determined that the emphasis of the association is to encourage Salesian growth among students and alumni, by becoming visible both on and off the campus. With this in mind, the alumni took action in the fall of 1997, and organized the inaugural Alumni Scholarship benefit to bring together Salesians, alumni, students, and friends. The annual event is held in October and is known as An Afternoon with Friends all proceeds raised from the benefit support the Alumni Scholarship Fund. The annual golf tournament is held in the summer. The tournament provides alumni, faculty and friends the opportunity to interact with one another in a less formal atmosphere.

Alumni are invited to become involved in one or more of these activities throughout the year, including class reunions, association board, and technology advisory boards.
