Program: The Bosco Tech football program was reestablished in the fall of 1995 as a club activity and began participating in CIF in the fall of 1996.
League: Del Rey League, which consists of the following schools: Don Bosco Tech, St. Bernards, Bishop Montgomery, Harvard-Westlake, Cathedral, and Serra H.S.
Classification: Northwest Division of the CIF Southern Section
Levels of competition: Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshmen
Practice season: begins the third week of August and continues through the playoffs which conclude in early December. (There also are practices scheduled for the third and fourth weeks of May and for six weeks in June and July.)
Competitive season: September through December.
Conditioning & summer session: Conditioning and summer sessions are available during June and July.
Summer activities: Participation in summer passing leagues at area high schools.
Highlights: Don Bosco Tech has won two league titles (2000, 2001) since football was re-established in 1996. The Tigers have made the playoffs three times (2000, 2001, 2004) since 1996. In the year 2000, the Tech made their deepest playoff run advancing all the way to the CIF southern section semifinals in Division XII.
Head coach: Chris Shockley begins his first year as head coach of the Tech football program
He has served as assistant head coach under former head coaches William Yurak and Carlos Plantillas.
He has been the offensive coordinator for the Tigers since 2001 and has been a part of the coaching
staff since 1998.
