TRUSTEES’
SCHOLAR AWARDS
A
four-year scholarship supporting students committed to
Academic
and Technology Achievement, Community Service and Leadership
AWARD CRITERIA
·
Students who have
successfully completed elementary/junior high education with noteworthy
achievement, honors and a minimum GPA of 3.5.
·
Students who have
demonstrated leadership through active involvement in school/community
activities and services.
·
Students who have
a strong interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) as these
pertain to the Academy offerings at Bosco Tech.
·
Students who are
highly motivated and have set clear goals for themselves.
·
Students who
possess outstanding academic potential.
EXPECTATIONS FOR AWARD RECIPIENTS
·
Maintain a G.P.A.
of at least 3.5 on an annual basis, which demonstrates continued and sustained
academic excellence, and successfully fulfills graduation requirements at DBTI.
·
Assume a
leadership and service role on or off- campus.
·
Actively engage in
all aspects of school life, contributing to the building up of the school
community.
APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCESS
·
Submit a complete
DBTI admissions application, along with a separate application for the
Trustees’ Scholar Award. Late applications will not be considered.
·
Submit a copy of
school transcript and standardized test scores for grades
6-8 and two letters of recommendations on school stationery
from a teacher or school administrator in sealed envelopes. These letters
should contain personalized information about the applicant, with supportive
statements detailing why you would be a worthy recipient of this award.
·
Submit an essay
indicating why you are deserving of this four-year scholarship. This personal
statement must include information about your personal goals and desire to
contribute to the DBTI community and the greater community as well. Please
include any additional information about unique, personal circumstances. This
statement should be double-spaced, no smaller than 12-point font and no more
than two pages in length. Include your name and address on the top, right hand
side of your essay.
