The 24 Hour Policy: If your son was ill with symptoms including
either vomiting or fever, he must remain out of school at least one full
day free from these symptoms before returning. If you have any question
regarding this policy, please call the school nurse for clearance before
returning your son to school, or he may be sent back home.
Physician's Diagnosis and Clearance: Anytime a physician is consulted,
students must bring a note from the doctor stating his or her diagnosis
and restrictions and authorizing the student's return to school. This
policy is followed without exception!
Injuries: Any student who is injured on the campus or at any school
activity, regardless of the day or hour, must report the injury to the
School Nurse immediately or when the office next opens if the injury took
place outside the office hours. Students who are injured at home or away
from school and in ways not related to school activities, must provide
a note from the doctor or hospital in order for the School Nurse to determine
if restrictions are needed from school activities or technology classes,
or if special assistance is required for the student.
Insurance and Insurance Forms: All registered students are covered
for injuries sustained while at school or attending school related activities.
Insurance claim forms may be obtained through the School Nurse in the
Health Office. The policy does not cover injuries that are not related
to school or school activities, or which have not been officially reported
to the School Nurse, and for which an injury report has not been completed.
Prescription Medication: Students on prescription medication from
their physician must bring the medication in its original prescription
bottle to the Health Office, where they may take it at the appropriate
times. No medication of any kind may be in the student's possession at
any time! Students violating this policy will be subject to severe disciplinary
action, including possibly suspension, as this is in violation of California
State Law.
