Cheer & Mascot

Purpose: To promote school spirit and the Salesian Philosophy. To develop good sportsmanship, support athletic programs and develop positive relationships           within the community. To represent our school and community at competitions.

Eligibility: Female Members must attend parochial or private high school. Male participants must attend the TECH. A minimum 2.5 grade point average (3.0 leadership roles) must be maintained for the entire spirit season.

Participation in the program will assist members in developing Healthy lifestyles, time management and leadership skills. Personal growth in the areas of public speaking, organizational skills, team dynamics will also be gained through our program.

Teams:

Game Team, Competition Team & Mascot(s)

Season: 11-month program with try outs in May.

Special Events / Performances: Bosco Tech Athletic contests and ½ Time performances, Tech Open House, College Fair, High School Night, USA All Stars, opportunities to participate in Competitions: Regional / State / Nationals, College/Professional Clinics/Performances, Parades, Bowl games, Athletic sport team mixers, Captain Meals & Senior Day.

Community Service Events: On campus recycling program, St. Jude letter campaign / Game Day, Breast Cancer Awareness Collections, Coastal Clean-up, Annual Neighborhood Food Can Drive and Pennies for Patients.

Coaching Staff:

  • Michele Casanova is in her 21st year at Bosco Tech. She is an Alumni Spirit member from Pasadena City College’s Dance/Cheer team and Alumni Cheerleader from San Diego State University. She has been coaching Elementary / Jr. All-American / All-star and High school teams in the San Gabriel Valley and San Diego county for over 30 years. She is the Head Coach and Advisor.
  • Deborah Castro is an Alumni Cheerleader of Bosco Tech, she cheered for two seasons for the Orange County Breaker Girls, choreographs routines and is in her 15th year as Assistant Advisor/Coach.
