REVIEW/PREP CLASSES - 3 UNIT (ONE QUARTER-LONG) CLASSES: $225
(Incoming DBTI Freshmen Only) Introductory Algebra (5-week in-person course from June 16 - July 18, 8:45 AM - 10:15 AM): Designed for those entering high school in the fall who want or need additional review work in Mathematics. For students who want a solid foundation in Algebra in preparation for Integrated Math I. Includes a general review of basic mathematical operations with emphasis on factors, fractions, decimals, and the use of formulas to solve problems as well as an introduction to elementary algebra and simple equations, addition and subtraction of like terms, signed numbers, and basic operations with algebraic equations. Concludes with an introduction to linear equations, factoring, the multiplication of binomial expressions, and other basic algebraic concepts.
AP Physics Prep (3-week asynchronous online course, beginning no later than Monday, June 23): This course is designed only for Bosco students who plan to take AP Physics during senior year, but have not yet taken a calculus course. It covers the two basic operations in calculus: derivatives and integrals. It is not equivalent to any calculus course, nor can it be used as credit recovery for a physics course. Requires weekly testing. //the multiplication of binomial expressions, and other basic algebraic concepts.
AP Chemistry Prep (5-week asynchronous online course from June 16 - July 17): This course is designed only for Bosco students who plan to take AP Chemistry during their junior year, but did not take Honors Chemistry the year before. This class will cover concepts from Honors Chemistry including, properties of matter, dimensional analysis, chemical nomenclature, atomic structure, the periodic table, chemical bonds, and others to give them the fundamental knowledge necessary to succeed in AP Chemistry. This is not equivalent to any chemistry course, and it cannot be used as credit recovery for any chemistry course.
