Debbie Castro, Athletic Director
About Ms. Castro
Debbie Castro has served at Bosco Tech for 10 years, bringing dedication, experience, and a strong commitment to the Bosco Tech athletic community. In her role, she oversees athletic logistics and game-day operations, helping ensure that the school’s athletic programs run smoothly and successfully.
Ms. Castro has both cheered and coached cheerleading at Bosco Tech, giving her a unique perspective on the importance of athletics and the opportunities they provide for students. Her experience as both an athlete and coach has strengthened her appreciation for the role athletics plays in building confidence, leadership, and community.
After more than a decade of service to Bosco Tech Athletics, Debbie is excited about the future of the program and its continued growth. She is especially looking forward to welcoming girls’ sports teams to Bosco Tech and creating new opportunities for female student-athletes to compete, grow, and become an integral part of the Bosco Tech community.
Ms. Castro is proud to continue supporting Bosco Tech’s student-athletes, coaches, and boosters and looks forward to being part of this exciting new chapter in the school’s athletic program.
Head Coaches
Coach Dustin Duhamel brings 30 years of coaching experience to Bosco Tech Athletics, including 25 years coaching at the high school level and 2 years as Bosco Tech Head Coach. With decades of experience in high school baseball, Coach Duhamel brings a wealth of knowledge and a commitment to developing student-athletes through the game.
Coach Duhamel’s coaching philosophy is centered on discipline, attention to detail, individual work ethic, and teamwork. He believes baseball can be used as a powerful tool to guide and develop respectful, driven young men both on and off the field. His approach emphasizes setting team goals while challenging each athlete to take responsibility for his own preparation and development.
At Bosco Tech, Coach Duhamel is excited to begin the work that will lay the foundation for the upcoming season. Although the official season does not begin until February, he believes the training grind begins in August. His goal is to build a program where athletes understand that success comes from preparation, consistency, resilience, and a willingness to put in the time.
Coach Duhamel encourages his athletes to put the team ahead of themselves, remain resilient through failure, and understand that work ethic is one of the most important qualities they bring to the field. For him, the lessons learned through baseball extend far beyond the game and help prepare young men for success in life.
His coaching motto is: “Hard work pays off.”
Boys Basketball - Joshua Aguilera
Joshua Aguilera begins his first season as the Head Basketball Coach at Bosco Tech. He earned his B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles, and brings a coaching philosophy centered on accountability, empowerment, and building meaningful relationships with student-athletes.
Coach Aguilera describes his coaching style as stern but supportive. He believes in holding student-athletes accountable while empowering them to reach their full athletic potential. For him, earning the trust of his players is essential to building genuine relationships that help student-athletes thrive both on and off the court.
Integrity, selflessness, and discipline are at the heart of Coach Aguilera’s program. He believes these values can be developed through basketball and will continue to serve his players long after they graduate from Bosco Tech. His goal is to empower young men to become independent thinkers and problem-solvers who are prepared to succeed beyond the basketball court and the classroom.
Coach Aguilera is especially excited for the journey ahead—the daily grind of practice, the challenges and triumphs of competition, and the opportunity to establish a strong culture for Bosco Tech Boys Basketball. He views the first season as an important foundation for the program and an opportunity to set the standard for future generations of student-athletes.
His philosophy can be summed up simply: “Basketball is like life.” Through the sport, Coach Aguilera hopes to teach lessons that extend far beyond the game and prepare his players to become confident, disciplined, selfless, and successful young men.
Cheer & Mascot - Michelle Casanova
Coach Casanova is in her 21st year at Bosco Tech. She is an Alumni Spirit member from Pasadena City College’s Dance/Cheer team and Alumni Cheerleader from San Diego State University. She has been coaching Elementary / Jr. All-American / All-star and High school teams in the San Gabriel Valley and San Diego county for over 30 years. She is the Head Coach and Advisor.
Cross Country (COED) - Blayze Fimbres
Coach Blayze Fimbres brings 15 years of coaching experience, including 11 years at Bosco Tech, to the Cross Country and Track & Field programs.
His coaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that with enough motivation and desire, just about anyone can improve enough to succeed. Coach Fimbres is driven by a deep competitive love for the sport and challenges his athletes to discover their potential through commitment, hard work, and perseverance.
As the program looks ahead to the upcoming season, Coach Fimbres is excited to see last year’s promising young talent step into the expectations they have earned. With continued growth and dedication, he looks forward to watching his athletes take the next step in their development and compete at an even higher level.

Esports - Stephen Andryshak "Coach Shak"
Coach Adam Uballez brings 14 years of coaching experience to Bosco Tech Football, including 9 years at Bosco Tech. A Bosco Tech alumnus from the Class of 2012, Coach Uballez earned his B.A. in Sociology from California State University, Northridge. His personal connection to Bosco Tech and his years of coaching experience have helped shape his commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field.
Coach Uballez’s coaching philosophy centers on helping young men become their best selves, both on and off the football field. He strives to teach his athletes valuable tools and life lessons that will continue to benefit them long after their high school football careers are over.
At Bosco Tech, Coach Uballez is especially excited about the brotherhood these young men have created. He hopes to continue developing a program built on respect, resilience, empathy, teamwork, and sportsmanship, while helping student-athletes grow into confident and responsible young men.
For Coach Uballez, being a Bosco Tech Tiger means being part of a community that continues to shape and support its students long after graduation. As a proud Bosco Tech alumnus, he understands firsthand the lasting impact of being a Tiger.
His coaching motto is simple: “Be Better.”
Girls Basketball - Jose Herrera
Coach Brian Waters brings 17 years of coaching experience to Bosco Tech Athletics, including 4 years as Bosco Tech Head Golf Coach. He earned his B.A. in Government from Grand Canyon University and is committed to helping student-athletes recognize and develop their potential both on and off the course.
Coach Waters’ coaching philosophy is centered on the belief that every person has potential; they simply need guidance in how to develop it. He emphasizes personal growth and encourages his athletes to be honest with themselves and others, understand their strengths and areas for improvement, and take ownership of their development.
As the head coach of Bosco Tech Golf, Coach Waters is excited about the upcoming season and the strong foundation within the program. With a solid group of returning players at both levels, along with newcomers who have demonstrated a willingness and desire to put in the practice necessary to improve their game, he looks forward to seeing the team continue to grow and compete.
For Coach Waters, golf provides an opportunity to teach lessons that extend beyond the green—patience, accountability, perseverance, and the importance of continually working to improve.
His coaching motto is simple: “The most important shot is the next one.”
Coach Eric Alvarenga brings 13 years of coaching experience as he enters his second season leading the Tigers soccer program.
Coach Alvarenga’s coaching philosophy centers on development first, with a competitive edge. He is committed to helping student-athletes grow both on and off the field while emphasizing resilience, accountability, discipline, respect, and character. His goal is to create an environment where players are challenged to improve, compete with purpose, and support one another throughout the process.
Looking ahead to the upcoming season, Coach Alvarenga is excited about a young but experienced returning group that is ready to embrace the challenges ahead. His message to his players is: “Control what you can control, trust the process, stay together, and keep pushing forward.”
Beyond coaching, Coach Alvarenga is a proud father who finds great joy in being a “girl dad.” Coaching his daughter for the past three years has further motivated him to continue his coaching journey and make a positive difference in the lives of the athletes he works with. For Coach Alvarenga, coaching is about more than developing better players—it is about making a meaningful impact, one athlete at a time.
Track & Field (COED) - Blayze Fimbres
Coach Blayze Fimbres brings 15 years of coaching experience, including 11 years at Bosco Tech, to the Cross Country and Track & Field programs.

Boys & Girls Volleyball - Damian Reyes
Coach Damian Reyes brings 23 years of coaching experience to Bosco Tech Athletics. A proud Bosco Tech alumnus from the Class of 2003, Coach Reyes earned his B.S. in Movement and Sports Science from the University of La Verne and has dedicated more than two decades to developing student-athletes through volleyball.
Coach Reyes’ philosophy is rooted in discipline, sacrifice, personal growth, and faith. He believes athletics can be much more than competition, serving as a powerful instrument for character formation, leadership, and service. Through volleyball, he challenges his athletes to develop courage, fortitude, perseverance, discipline, and faith—qualities that extend well beyond the court.
As the head coach of both the boys’ and girls’ volleyball programs, Coach Reyes is excited about the continued growth of Bosco Tech volleyball. For the girls’ program, he looks forward to seeing student-athletes develop their skills, gain confidence, and experience the excitement of competing as the program begins its inaugural season. Following a successful boys’ season that culminated in a league championship and playoff appearance, he is also focused on welcoming new players who can help build upon that success and compete for another championship and playoff appearance.
For Coach Reyes, being a Bosco Tech Tiger means being part of a community that has played an important role in his own life and continues to provide an opportunity to positively impact the next generation of student-athletes.
His coaching motto, inspired by legendary coach John Wooden, is: “Never try to be better than someone else. Learn from others and try to be the best you can be. Success is the by-product of that preparation.”
